L'ETHOS AUX TEMPS DU FOOTBALL, ANALYSE DE L'IMAGE DE SOI DU SELECTIONNEUR DE L'EQUIPE NATIONALE DU MAROC WALID REGRAGUI

Abstract

Ethos is the speaker's commitment and values, and is what generates respect and trust. It's a notion that lies at the window of several branches: language sciences, psychology and sociology. Moreover, ethos is one of the technical means of proof that make speech persuasive. However, it occasionally turns out that the staging of discursive ethos projects the speaker's desire to act through his words. We'll take up this authentication again in the media appearances of Moroccan team coach Walid Regragui. Indeed, he injects into his discourse the self-image that the speaker constructs to contribute to the effectiveness of what he says. His aim is to answer a number of questions that form the backbone of his chosen problematic: What are the rhetorical stakes for this speaker? In other words, what objectives can he or she aim for? What rhetorical techniques does he or she use to achieve these objectives? The aim of this paper is to carry out a descriptive analysis of Walid Regragui's ethos, based essentially on the work of Ruth Amossy (2010, 2014).
